We will look at your application carefully and will let you know as soon as we can whether your application has been successful – this may take a while owing to the large number of applications we receive.

How to impress us with your pictures
Photos should be as professional* looking as possible.
If your disability is visible, do ensure the full length shot shows it. We need an impression of your physicality, as if we were in the room.
*If you do not have professional pictures, you can still apply, ensuring you adhere to the following requirements:
- One headshot and one full length (with your disability visible, if applicable)
- Taken in clear, natural light (daylight is best)
- Good quality, crisp and focused
- Taken within the last 6 months
- Ensure the background is plain, not distracting
- Wearing well fitting clothes, avoiding patterns
- Never use filters or retouch tools – we need to see the real you, your photos are important.
Audition piece requirements
If you do not have a current *Showreel, please film a short 1–2 minute audition piece.
Pick a character that plays to your strengths. This should be filmed to a self-tape standard: landscape format, well lit, plain background and filming from mid chest to top of head. First impressions count so do spend some time getting this right. Choose either a monologue or duologue and rehearse it until your tape shows your full acting strengths.
*You need to show us what you are capable of, not what you have been in, so if you already have a showreel and we feel it doesn't show us enough of your skills, we may ask you to prepare an audition piece.
Please send your complete application to: office@visablepeople.com
Cost
There is no charge to join VisABLE, there are no subscription fees. If we offer representation, we will create your Profile page to be featured on the VisABLE website visablepeople.com when your pictures are approved. We only earn a fee when we find you work – this is how we think it should be.
Contact information
We require your legal name as it appears on your passport / official documents, with your current address and contact details. Please be careful to enter your email address correctly. If you also have a stage name, you can include it but make it clear that's what it is.
Personal information
Appearance
We need to know about your appearance because we are sometimes asked for specific disabilities to suit specialised roles, so in order to know if you are suitable, we need to know what the visible characteristics** of your impairment are.
Please show us any Tattoos on hands or neck as these can impact some roles.
Right to Work
Our clients such as the BBC, demand to see National Insurance numbers before they will book anyone and we can only offer work if you can provide this. If we offer you representation, you will be asked to show evidence of your right to work in the UK if you are not a UK citizen.
Criminal convictions can impact commercially sensitive contracts and need to be disclosed.
Special skills
If you have any high level skills like sports, musicianship or singing/dancing abilities, languages, anything you think may enhance your chances of work, tell us here.
All information you give us is confidential.
Haven't been offered a place on the new VisABLE website?
***This also applies if you have previously registered with VisABLE. We may be able to help you get Supporting Artist roles. If this appeals, please send your CV and pictures by email to:
Many top actors began their careers with TV and Film Extra work, to gain experience on set. SA bookings are for artists living within easy reach of where filming takes place. This can mean anywhere – however you will be limited to roles in local productions only, so unless you happen to live close to where a long running series is filmed, you will find job opportunities are infrequent. For example: London – Eastenders, Manchester – Coronation Street, Cardiff – Casualty, Birmingham – Silent Witness, Liverpool – Hollyoaks.
You don't always need training to become an actor. However, you will stand a much better chance if you get experience. We encourage joining your local drama group. There are also many websites where you can learn about acting or enrol in an online class.
